Bangkok’s Don Mueang airport ready for new projects

Airports of Thailand (AoT) has announced plans for the future of Bangkok’s second airport, Don Mueang. According to a Bangkok Post report, six projects will be launched to generate income for the loss-making hub. These include: maintenance of landing gear; aircraft spare parts; a terminal building for passengers of private and chartered planes, simulated flight training, small and medium-sized aircraft maintenance, and an international trade centre.Serirat Prasutanont, acting President of the AoT, was reported saying that Don Mueang currently generates a monthly income of just THB45 million (US$1.3 million) while monthly expenses total THB100 million.
