A new BBC documentary looking behind the scenes of the Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai will be aired on UK television tonight.
‘Hotel India’ will cover four parts from 27 August on BBC2 and has been developed by the same company that created ‘Inside Claridge’s’.
The series will condense six months of filming at the hotel, where rooms cost up to GBP9,000 a night.
The first episode follows general manager Gaurav making checks for VIPs; the story of the hotel’s Mr Chaskar who has been in charge of the hotel’s mini-bar service for 42 years and long-term resident Maris Mooers who stays in the hotel six months a year.
