Big, international organizations have been reported to have booked out most of the signed Olympic hotels, making it difficult for ordinary visitors to get a hotel booking at any of these properties.
The high prices these hotels are demanding do not seem to deter international companies from reserving the rooms.
According to reports by TravelMole, most of the hotels are to accommodate Olympic officials, government officials, sponsors and referees. The little that remains are available to individual tourists and are being snapped up quickly.
The high demand for accommodation has prompted Chinese citizens to offer their houses for rent as many have realized the lucrative opportunity to capitalize on the event.
