Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail complete by year-end

Construction of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway, which will cut travelling time between two cities from 12 hours to four, will be completed by the end of next year, according to Shanghai Daily report. It will open in 2012, with China’s Ministry of Railways promising to make it the most profitable railway in the world.
