Blossom Japan; the dedicated invitation only event planned exclusively for the luxury travel industry proves to be perfect timing for both buyers and sellers.
In January 2011 Blossom Japan arrives to Tokyo, giving the industry access to the lucrative but hard to penetrate Japanese market by facilitating one-to-one business meetings between luxury travel suppliers and exceptional luxury travel buyers.
“I would like to congratulate Blossom Japan on its initiative to create this amazing showcase and bring it to fruition,” says Francois J. Cnockaert, the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo. “The Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo is extremely proud to be one of the four host hotels for the event, and I believe that our hotel, as well as every other provider of luxury goods in Tokyo, will benefit from the exposure to the number of international newcomers that Blossom Japan will attract.”
In April this year the Japanese government replaced their “Yokoso! Japan” campaign and released a new logo and catchphrase ”Japan. Endless Discovery.” to promote tourism throughout the country. The slogan is aimed at encouraging repeat visitors, while the logo is of a red and white design with images of the sun and cherry blossom; both iconic Japanese symbols.
In 2009 the number of foreign tourists to Japan was 6.79 million, down 18.7% from a year earlier. The government is hoping to attract 10 million visitors to Japan in 2010 with an end goal of 30 million in the near future.
Hiroshi Kuchiki, President of Magellan Resorts & Trust Inc, Japan says “Japan is full of unknown luxury products but sadly has not positioned itself as a luxury brand to attract the right customers. I am pleased to be joining the Blossom Japan 2011 Buyer Programme and look forward to getting together with top luxury travel leaders from all over the world who know the finest in luxury travel.”
Blossom Japan will create a platform for exhibitors to interact face to face with the luxury travel buyers and unique lifestyle providers that serve the Japanese HNWI. A selected group of top international buyers will also be invited to meet top end providers in Japan.
Diego Garcia Fernandez, Owner of Garcia Fernandez Turismo in Argentina says, “I consider that luxury travel shows allow for contact and networking providing access to all the latest and better offers for our customers. I am very interested in participating in Blossom in Japan, which I believe will give me many new contacts and also allow me to develop a new market.”
Each year in April, Japanese travel agencies produce the Shimoki Brochure; their most important piece of marketing material aimed at the summer traveler. “The role we want Blossom Japan to play is to be the ideal platform for buyers and sellers to forge solid relationships. Having the event in January is just the perfect timing to get ready for an incredible new season ahead. Sellers looking for a return on investment could definitely see returns in less than three months. This is quite a unique opportunity,” says Jay Martens, CEO of Lucioles.
Blossom Japan’s host hotels are also eager to welcome the event to Tokyo in the New Year.
“We all are so much looking forward to welcoming all guests of Blossom Japan to Tokyo in January 2011, to portray the heart-warming hospitality of the Japanese people” says Michael Branham, General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi
“It is a great pleasure for us to take part in the first Blossom Japan. We are confident that Tokyo is a very attractive destination for luxury travelers. As a new luxury hotel opened just one year ago in the best location in town, we are looking forward to this opportunity in introducing our property to our prospective business partners, who are familiar with the Shangri-La brand.” says Wolfgang Krueger, General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo.
“Tokyo is a vast, riveting metropolis with some of the world’s most enticing culinary delicacies from both East and West. Blossom Japan should do just that – bring your awareness of this most modern of nations into full focus. We indeed look forward to welcoming you on the special occasion of our 120th Anniversary!” says Hideya Sadayasu, General Manager, Imperial Hotel, Tokyo.
The invitation only event will be held from 18-21 January 2011.
It will commence with a full day conference followed by a three-day exhibition at the Tokyo International Forum.
