Boeing is expanding its pilot training facilities in Asia, with the addition of new flight simulators in Singapore.
As part of a global expansion of its training capabilities, two new full-flight simulators – one Boeing 737 and one Boeing 777 – will be rolled out to the company’s pilot training campus in Singapore. A new Boeing 787 simulator will also be deployed at London Gatwick Airport.
Boeing already operates eight B787 training facilities in Miami, London, Singapore and Shanghai.
“Boeing Flight Services provides our customer around the world every competitive advantage, including training assets convenient to their route structures,” said Sherry Carbary, vice president of Boeing Flight Services.
“We deliver the highest quality, best value training, providing the expertise only Boeing can provide. As our industry grows and demand for pilots increases, we will be prepared to meet the needs of our customers.”
Boeing predicts that the world will need 498,000 new commercial airline pilots over the next 20 years, 192,300 of which will be based in the Asia Pacific region.
