Boeing to host Indian aviation summit

Boeing will host a summit on aerospace innovation in New Delhi next month.
Organised in tandem with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, the one-day event will bring together stakeholders from the public, private and academic sectors to discuss India’s role in aerospace sector, with a focus on innovation and new technologies.
The summit, which will take place on 15 October 2015, is part of a special series of events Boeing is organising around the world as it approaches its centennial in 2016.
“As we look to our second century in business, it is clear that India has the talent, technology and entrepreneurial resources to play a pivotal role in the evolution of the aerospace industry,” said Boeing’s chairman Jim McNerney, who will participate in the summit.
“Boeing is working with local companies to help strengthen all aspects of the Indian aerospace industry, including manufacturing, sourcing, engineering, and research and development.”
Pratyush Kumar, president of Boeing India, added; “We are thrilled to convene this summit in India to accelerate the development of the aerospace sector, which is critical for meeting objectives of the ‘Make in India’ programme and harnessing India’s full potential for aerospace and defence.”
Additional details, including speakers, topics and logistics, will be announced next month.
