Three fake Apple stores are operating in the Chinese city of Kunming, it has been discovered. The BBC reported last week that an American blogger filmed herself chatting with staff in the stores, which came complete with Apple logos, product displays and spiral staircases. The staff also wore Apple t-shirts and appeared to believe they actually worked for the US firm. Unfortunately Apple only operates two stores in China – in Beijing and Shanghai (pictured above). A further check by the blogger revealed that none of the three stores she found are mentioned on Apple’s list of official resellers.
Apple has declined to comment on the fake outlets.
