The number of enquiries for private charters to Brazil has undergone a huge rise following England’s qualification to the FIFA World Cup.
Charter specialists Air Charter Service (ACS) has revealed that now that most teams know whether they’re going to the next World Cup or not, enquiries have risen dramatically.
Matt Purton, commercial jets director at ACS, commented: “ACS is already taking requests for charter flights to, and within, Brazil. At this stage they are just initial enquiries as the teams do not yet know in which cities they will be playing, and won’t do until the draw for the groups takes place on 6 December. It is, however, important to have initial plans in place before then.”
With a competition of this sort, which takes place across a vast country, Purton explains, charter flights are increasingly important, Especially with host cities being up to 3,000km apart.
“Chartering aircraft is often the most sensible way to travel from one match to the next. Over the past few World Cups we have arranged hundreds of flights for fans, sponsors and teams and expect even more demand next summer.
“Our local office in São Paulo will help us coordinate everything on the ground when the tournament kicks off on 12 June.”
Air Charter Service has a global network of 16 offices worldwide, offering private jet, commercial airliner and cargo charters.
