British Airways is to host 100 of Silicon Valley’s most renowned business leaders on a transatlantic flight which will also serve as a humanitarian brainstorming session.
Billed as ‘Ungrounded: The first innovation lab in the sky’ passengers will attempt to come up with ideas using technology to fight international emergencies and disasters during the 11 hour crossing.
The flight will take place next week.
Participants will include Craigslist founder Craig Newmark; Ben Rattray of Change.org and Gavin Newsom, the lieutenant governor of California, reports the Independent. Once the plane lands the delegates will be taken to representatives from the United Nations to share their ideas. The scheme is being ran in collaboration with Tech City the government hub of tech companies in East London.
The industry leaders are in London to attend the Decide Now ACT (DNA) summit next week.
