Singapore, October 8, 2009 - Global cruise brand Royal Caribbean International has launched the Dreamship Builder website in Asia today, a fun and interactive online contest that lets participants unleash their creativity while aiming to build brand awareness and create interest in its renowned innovative ships and signature onboard amenities.
The concept of the Dreamship Builder draws inspiration from Royal Caribbean’s new ‘Nation of Why Not’ brand campaign that is being kicked off now across Asia. It celebrates how Royal Caribbean keeps redefining cruising by asking itself the question “Why Not?”, and expanded the range of new exciting amenities on its ships such as the ice-skating rink, rock-wall, mini-golf course and surf simulator that everyone could experience. In the spirit of this love for innovation, the contest challenges one to use one’s imagination to create his or her dream Royal Caribbean cruise ship, and the designers of the three most popular Dreamships will win luxury cruises for two on Legend of the Seas.
Contest Mechanics
Contestants are invited to visit www.royalcaribbean-asia.com/dreamship, where they can design their Dreamship easily. They will first have to select a backdrop from five beautifully illustrated cruise destinations such as Alaska, Asia and the Mediterranean, where their Dreamship will set sail to.
Next, they need to select a ship base from three different designs. This will be followed by choosing from a wide selection of eye-catching animated onboard features and amenities and adding them onto the ship base. A number of them can be found on Royal Caribbean’s fleet such as the FlowRider, boxing ring and H2O Zone water park, and many others which are imaginary like the F1 Race, circus, waterfall and Gladiator Stadium.
Contestants will also get to name their created Dreamship in the style of Royal Caribbean ships, with the suffix ‘of the Seas’, and invite their friends to vote for their ship online. In addition, there are options for the contestants to profile their creation on the internet and call for votes, such as embedding their Dreamship onto their blog and sharing it on their Facebook profile.
The contest will begin on October 8, 2009 and end on November 12, 2009. All entries must be received within this time period to be eligible for prizes.
Prizes
Royal Caribbean is giving out three attractive prizes to the entries with the top three most number of votes. The grand prize winner will win a 7-night Pearls of the Orient Cruise or Kyushu Explorer Cruise for two, both sailing out from Shanghai to various popular Japanese and Korean destinations. The two other top prize winners will win a 5-night Gems of Asia Cruise or Indo-China Explorer Cruise for two, both from Hong Kong to scenic Taiwanese ports or to Vietnam and Sanya. Full details of the itineraries are at www.royalcaribbean-asia.com. The winners can choose between either cruise and all cruises will be on Legend of the Seas.
Eligibility
This contest is open only to residents of Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam who are 18 years old and older. Winners will be announced on the contest website in the week of November 16, 2009.
Royal Caribbean hopes that the contest will give all contestants the inspiration and freedom to explore their adventurous side and create the most exciting and incredible dream Royal Caribbean cruise ship one could ever imagine, and in this way, get in touch with the “Why Not?” spirit which delivers the most unique cruise experiences on Royal Caribbean.
