Best Western International is joining hands with Universal Studios Japan to open Best Western Premier Hotel Osaka Bay.
It will be USJ’s official hotel. A 12-storey hotel with 190 rooms will begin construction in April 2008 with a planned opening of July 2009.
BWI said the rooms are designed with a sense of fun and fantasy.
The hotel expects an average occupancy rate of at least 70% within the first year; targeting families and leisure tour groups.
Universal Studios Japan is Osaka’s answer to Tokyo Disneyland. The third movie-based theme park in the Universal Studios’ family, it was the first outside of the United States.
“Aside from Universal Studios, Japan has a lot to offer as a destination. It is an art and cultural center, has stunning architecture and is home to a range of natural attractions,” said Glenn de Souza, Best Western Vice President International Operations Asia (second gentleman from the left in picture).
