CAL signs interline deal with Virgin America
China Airlines (CAL) and Virgin America has signed a new interline agreement offering combined travel on the networks of both carriers.
Effective immediately, the agreement allows passengers to purchase interline tickets for travel on CAL’s services from Taipei to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Passengers can then connect to Virgin America’s US network to destinations including Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Philadelphia, New York and Washington DC. The airlines will transfer baggage between connecting flights.
“We’re pleased to sign an interline agreement with China Airlines that will allow us to provide guests of both of our airlines with more connection options between Taiwan and US cities,” said Adam Green, Virgin America’s Director of Network Planning. “Strategic partnerships like this one with China Airlines are critical to driving connections over our SFO and LAX bases.”
“We are thrilled to partner with Virgin America,” said CAL’s Vice President, Michael Lo. “This agreement combines the strengths of two world-class airlines to provide better connectivity for guests flying between the US, Taiwan and beyond.”
Interline electronic tickets for Virgin America and CAL flights can now be booked through all major GDSs.
