Canada expects Indian Olympic boost

Canada expects a rise in tourist arrivals from India during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Anil mathur reports that the country welcomed 110,000 Indian visitors last year, but Andrew Clark, Vice President of Market Development at the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC) said in New Delhi on 18 August, that media and travel agent familiarization trips will be conducted to promote the destination to the Indian market. Clark was speaking at the opening of the CTC’s office in New Delhi. In addition to the new offices in Delhi and Mumbai, nine new ‘acceptance offices’ have been set up in India to ease visa problems.
