Snowfall in Canada is helping tour operators to see a boost in ski holiday bookings, Canadian Affair has claimed.
While some resorts in Europe have seen little fresh snowfall in the last week, nearly 92cm has fallen in western Canada, with the tour operator seeing a 40% increase in ski holidays year-on-year.
The company has also attributed the increase to the strength of the pound to the Canadian Dollar, offering British tourists more money when they get to resorts.
“With weather conditions in Europe uncertain, travellers are now looking for guaranteed snow in Canada, and with our great prices and more favourable Canadian dollar exchange rate, we are seeing this surge in late bookings,” said the operator’s managing director Kathryn Munro.
