Carlson Hotels Worldwide – Asia Pacific has announced plans for significant expansion in Thailand over the next two years. The development in Thailand will spearhead Carlson’s regional strategy that aims to double its portfolio of hotels in Asia Pacific in four years.
Under the plans, Carlson will open seven new hotels in Bangkok, Phuket and Krabi under its Regent, Radisson and Park Plaza brands. The new properties will add over 1,500 new rooms to its Thailand inventory. Phuket will see two new Carlson-managed properties by the end of 2009 - the Radisson Plaza Resort Phuket Panwa Beach and the Regent Phuket Cape Panwa. The Radisson Resort & Spa Krabi is scheduled to open in 2010.
