Cathay, Dragonair traffic drops in June

The Cathay Pacific and Dragonair combined traffic figures for June 2009 that show a sharp fall in passenger numbers compared to the same month last year. The two airlines carried a total of 1,738,413 passengers – a drop of 18.1% against June 2008 – while the load factor fell by 4.5 percentage points to 76.8%. Capacity for the month, measured in available seat kilometres (ASKs), was down 9.1%. For the year to date, the number of passengers carried has fallen 4.2% while capacity has declined by 2.1%.
