A Cathay Pacific flight travelling from Singapore to Jakarta was forced to make an emergency landing at Changi airport on Monday, after pilots received a ‘stall warning’ from one of the engines. Fire crews met the twin-engined Airbus A330 on arrival, and sparks emitted from the aircraft’s number two engine had to be doused by fire extinguishers.
None of the 136 passengers on board the flight were injured. A spokesperson for the airline said that the pilots “were in control of the situation at all times”. An investigation is now underway.
