Cathay Pacific Airways will boost its connections to New York next year, with the launch of a new service to Newark Liberty International Airport.
Commencing on 1 March 2014, the new service will operate daily using a Boeing 777-300ER with business, premium economy and economy class cabins. Services will depart Hong Kong International Airport every day at 1820, getting into Newark at 2100 the same day. The return flight will leave Liberty airport at 0115, getting back into HKIA at 0600 the following day.
The flights will complement Cathay’s existing four daily flights to New York’s JFK airport.
“Our New York service has long been popular with business and leisure travellers alike. The addition of the Newark service will provide a more convenient option for business travellers living or working in New Jersey. By providing yet more flights to the New York metropolitan area, we can offer passengers even more choice and flexibility and, at the same time, continue to boost Hong Kong’s standing as an international aviation hub,” said Cathay’s chief executive, John Slosar.
Newark will become Cathay’s fifth US destination, following Chicago, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco.
