Despite the ongoing global downturn, Cebu Pacific (CEB) carried 428,431 more passengers in the first quarter of the year. In the Q1 2009, CEB carried 1,970,004 passengers - 28% up year-on-year. The results were boosted by domestic traffic within the Philippines, which grew 32% to 1,590,759.
CEB’s Vice President for Marketing & Distribution, Candice Iyog, said; “We will continue to grow our domestic and international operations by adding frequencies and opening new destinations. We hope to encourage more Filipinos and foreigners to take CEB’s flights because of affordability, wide connectivity and convenient schedules.”
