Cebu Pacific Air has launched its first flights to the Pacific island of Guam.
The new service commenced on 15 March 2016 and will now operate four times a week, direct from Manila. An American territory in Micronesia, Guam technically becomes Cebu Pacific’s first destination in the US.
“We are proud to operate our first route in the US today, which coincides with the month of our 20th anniversary,” said Alex Reyes, general manager of the airline’s long-haul division. “We share this excitement with Filipinos in Guam, who may now come home to their families more often, and with travellers from the Philippines, who aim to cross another destination off their bucket list.”
Flights will now depart Manila every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 0345 and arrive in Guam at 1015. The return services then leave at 1230 and arrive back in the Philippine capital at 1455. Cebu Pacific will operate the route using its 180-seat, all-economy Airbus A320 aircraft.
The low-cost carrier will compete with Philippine Airlines on the Manila-Guam route.
