Taiwan’s China Airlines (CAL) has unveiled three new route cross-Strait routes to mainland China.
On Wednesday 2 July 2014, the national carrier commenced direct flights from Taipei to Changchun and Hefei, in China’s Jilin and Anhui provinces respectively.
CAL will now fly three times a week (Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays) from Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport to Changchun, using a Boeing 737-800, while the Hefei service will run every Wednesday and Sunday using a twin-aisle Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Then a day later on Thursday 3 July, CAL commenced flights to Yantai, in eastern China’s Shandong province. Flights on this route will operate every Monday and Thursday direct from Taoyuan Airport using a Boeing 737-800.
By the end of July, CAL plans to increase its cross-Strait services to 152 weekly flights covering 32 separate routes.
