China bullet train opens

China’s first high-speed rail link has opened between Beijing and Tianjin, the BBC has reported. The 120km line will be used during the Olympics to shuttle athletes and spectators between the cities. Tianjin will host football matches during the Games. Trains will reach speeds of 350km per hour, cutting journey times between the cities from 70 to 30 minutes.
