China issues 16 cross-strait aviation licenses

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has licensed 16 airlines to operate regular direct flights between the mainland and Taiwan from the end August. According to a Xinhua report, Chinese airlines will operate regular direct flights from 25 mainland destinations to Taiwan’s Taoyuan International Airport from Monday. Taiwan-based airlines will start regular fights from Taipei, Kaohsiung and Taichung to the mainland.
