China’s aviation regulator will open 35 new internal routes from tomorrow until the end of the year to help airlines cut fuel usage, Bloomberg reported.
The new routes will cut flying distances by a total of at least 2,900km (1,800 miles), a Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) statement was reported saying. The direct routes connecting western and eastern cities will help airlines save on jet fuel as well as reducing congestion at China’s busy airports, the statement said.
