China Southern Airlines’ first Airbus A380 has entered the final phase of testing. The A380, which is scheduled to enter service later this year, has completed flight and ground evaluations at the Airbus plant in Germany, designed to validate the aircraft’s general performance and cabin systems, including air flow and air conditioning, lighting, galleys, lavatories, seats and in-flight entertainment. Following the completion of the tests, the new A380 will fly to France for pre-delivery preparations.
China Southern’s A380 will be fitted with 506 seats – 428 in Economy Class, 70 in Business and eight in First. The Guangzhou based airline has ordered a total of five double-decker aircraft.
