China Southern Airlines will increase flight frequency between Guangzhou and Auckland in November. Services will be taken form three weekly flights to daily operations on 1 November. The new daily service will add another 90,000 seats per year, reflecting the high market demand on the route. China Southern will also introduce a brand new, four-cabin layout aircraft along the route from 1 September.
Auckland Airport General Manager Aeronautical Commercial, Glenn Wedlock, said; “This is great news for the travel industry and should provide an estimated $100 million boost to the New Zealand economy. In 2011 the number of Chinese visitors into Auckland Airport grew 26.5% on 2010 figures, and we expect that growth trend to continue.”
