China’s Northeast Airlines is adding more planes and opening 22 routes within the next two years.
Launched in November this year, the carrier will add two Airbus A319 aircraft and one EMB-145 aircraft by 2008, as well as another three Airbus A319/320 aircraft by 2009. By that time, the carrier said it would have launched more than 20 routes covering 28 cities in the northeast, southwest and northern areas of China.
Gong Degui, general manager of Northeast Airlines Company Limited, was quoted by China Hospitality News as saying that said that the company would focus on the regional and second-tier cities. It would make Shenyang the aviation hub and expand to medium-sized cities such as Harbin, Mudanjiang and Qiqihar.
