Chinese cross-strait tourists exceed 450,000

The number of mainland Chinese tourists travelling to Taiwan passed the 450,000 mark on Saturday, Xinhua reported the China National Tourism Association’s (CNTA) Deputy Director, Du Jiang, as saying. The figure represents the number of visitors since direct cross-strait flight services began in July 2009, although 400,000 of the total number of trips have been taken in 2009, the report said.
