Chinese planemaker’s profits rise

Xi’an Aircraft International Corporation (XAIC), a China-based aircraft maker, saw a 9.5% rise in net profits in 2010, Xinhua has reported. The Shaanxi province-based company posted net profits of CNY345.6 million (US$52.7 million) last year, on revenues of CNY10.5 billion – 28.1% more than 2009. XAIC delivered China’s first new domestic short-haul passenger aircraft in December 2010. The Xinzhou-600 can carry 50-60 passengers with a range of 2,450km.
