Chongqing to build 10 Yangtze ‘super cruisers’

China’s Chongqing Traffic and Tourism Investment Group has revealed plans to spend CNY2 billion ($293 million) to build 10 Yangtze ‘super cruise ships’. According to a Xinhua report, the company has start building the first ship of the fleet, which is twice as expensive as the most luxury cruise ships currently sailing the Yangtze River. The first ship, to be come into service in May 2011, will be 136 metres long and 19.6 metres wide, with six floors.
