An overloaded computer system caused hundreds of US flights to be delayed yesterday, CNN has reported. Problems with the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) data processing system in Salt Lake City caused havoc across the country, leaving thousands of travellers stranded at airports.
Dealys were experienced at 40 airports, including Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport – the world’s busiest airport - and other major facilities including Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Philadelphia International Airport and Chicago’s Midway and O’Hare airports.
