Cruise passengers returning home from Copenhagen can now check-in online for flights and have their bags picked up under a new initiative.
Copenhagen Airport is offering the optional service for cruise passengers, who are booked in to flights by trained crew and can pay by credit card.
Boarding passes are handed onboard and bags labelled so they can be taken straight from the ship to the airport.
The scheme has been launched after successful trials with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), Princess Cruises and Holland America Line.
“This exciting new facility – approved by the Danish CAA – offers ‘hassle-free’ travel for our cruise passengers, enhancing their cruise experience on arrival in Copenhagen. Though already operational in the US, I believe Copenhagen is Europe’s first airport to provide such a travel service of convenience,” said Claus Bodker, Cruise Copenhagen network director. “This also provides an opportunity for cruise lines to achieve extra revenue, while the cruise visitor then has more time to spend enjoying the many attractions of Copenhagen.”
