Trenython Manor in Cornwall scooped the top accolade at the Considerate Hoteliers awards last week.
The Cornish hotel won the ‘Hotel of the Year 2014’ award while the international accolade went to Park Hyatt Hadahaa Resort Maldives.
The event marked the most sustainable hotels across the UK and globally covering various categories. The Marketing Initiative of the Year award went to Draycott, London while the Considerate Champion of the Year was awarded to Gary Lohan from One Aldwych, London.
The Green Team of the Year was given to Bryn Elltyd Eco Guesthouse in Wales while the greenest housekeeping team was at Landmark London.
Considerate Hoteliers’ Xenia Hohenlohe said: “Each year entries get more sophisticated, the standards on sustainability rises and creativity plays a huge role for hotels to find their own ‘considerate’ strategy. We are very proud to be able to offer our members a platform on which to showcase their efforts and love supporting them on every step of their journey”.
