In celebration of the dual festivals - Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day in 2011 – Costa Cruises, Europe’s leading cruise company, is offering five-day festive sailings on Costa Classica from Hong Kong to Sanya, Taiwan and Vietnam.
Chinese New Year’s Eve Sailing
Chinese New Year’s Eve sailing departing from Hong Kong on February 2 will journey through Keelung/Taipei and Taichung. Upon arrival, guests will be able to taste authentic Taiwanese cuisine by touring the famous night markets, visit temples and museums and experience the rich and diverse culture, and even appreciate floral exhibits from all around the world at the Taipei International Flora Exposition.
To welcome in the Year of the Rabbit, which begins on February 3, a stellar line-up of onboard festive activities await. Guests can take part in the Chinese New Year Countdown Party and play games to win fabulous prizes. Also, guests can sing and eat the night through at the midnight dance party and midnight poolside buffet.
Festive cuisines like sweet rice dumplings will be served on the cruise so guests can tickle their taste buds during the most important occasion of the year. Children can enjoy endless fun and laughter onboard by taking part in Chinese dumpling making classes, Bingo games and more. Meanwhile, parents can immerse themselves in exciting mahjong competitions and cocktail mixing classes.
Valentine’s Day Sailing
Enjoy unforgettably touching western (February 14) and Chinese (February 17) Valentine’s Days on the sea with your beloved one onboard Costa Cruises. Disembarking from Hong Kong on February 14, guests will be taken to the scenic Sanya (China) and Halong Bay (Vietnam).
Being one of the most popular honeymoon destinations from Hong Kong, Sanya is arguably the best place for couples to spend Valentine’s Day. Owing to its tropical climate, guests can spend a warmer Valentine’s Day with their beloved ones this year. Couples can even visit Tianya Haijiao, literally meaning ‘the furthermost part of the sky and the sea’, a beautiful and romantic scenic spot where many young couples tie the knot promising each other to spend the rest of their lives together. Meanwhile, in Vietnam couples can admire the natural beauty of the beaches and islands lying along Halong Bay or stroll through the tropical forests and explore thousands of species of animal and plant life thriving within.
On Costa Classica, a captivating range of favourite love song creates a romantic night at the ship’s Fancy Ball. Take Salsa Cha Cha Cha classes beforehand and perhaps be crowned the Queen / King of the Ball.
There is no better way to celebrate Chinese Valentine’s Day than engaging in ancient Chinese-style lantern riddle quizzes. Professional photographers will be on hand to ensure guests capture every sweet moment.
Celebrity Cruise
Celebrity cruise to Sanya (China) and Halong Bay (Vietnam) will sail on February 18. Guests will meet First Wit in Hong Kong - renowned writer and radio show host Chip Tsao, and one of the Asian Top 10 Corporate Trainers and celebrity instructor Christopher Hwang. Jointly hosted by Tsao and Hwang, the Greater-China-focused interactive talk show promises to be the most humorous and wittiest ever on the sea.
