Crowne Plaza Changi Airport has opened a major 10-storey extension that increases the hotel’s total capacity by more than 75%.
Designed by the same company that created the eye-catching main building, the extension features 243 rooms, taking the property’s total inventory to 563 rooms.
There are two room categories in the new extension – the 28m² business king and 38m² business twin rooms – both of which are designed for business travellers with in-built USB charging ports, free Wi-Fi, wireless printing, spacious desks and smartphones that offer complimentary local and international calls.
There are also 40-inch smart LED TVs with Airplay-enabled functions and Bluetooth speakers, while the bathrooms feature free-standing rain showers and separate bathtubs.
All the new rooms overlook Changi Airport’s main building through floor-to-ceiling glass windows. They will also offer views of the new Jewel Changi Airport project once it is completed in 2019.
“Singapore has been ranked by World Bank as the best place in the world to do business and continues to attract over three million business visitors each year with a year-long calendar of major events and conferences,” said Leanne Harwood, IHG’s vice president of operations for Southeast Asia & Korea.
“[Crowne Plaza Changi Airport’s] strategic location and seamless connectivity to Changi Airport perfectly caters to transiting passengers, while its proximity to nearby business parks makes it a suitable choice for business travellers. The Crowne Plaza brand is a trusted name for business travellers worldwide and we have seen strong demand since Crowne Plaza Changi Airport opened its doors in 2008.”
The hotel is connected to Changi Airport’s Terminal 3 via an air-conditioned pathway and Changi Airport station on Singapore’s MRT network is three minutes’ walk away.
