Crowne Plaza opens Yunnan resort
InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced the opening of the Crowne Plaza Resort Xishuangbanna, in southern China’s Yunnan province.
Set among mountains and forests close to the Mekong River, the 520-room property is designed in the style of a Dai Palace, and becomes Crowne Plaza’s first resort property in China.
Located close to the town of Jinghong, the resort offers a range of rooms and villas with large balconies, set among tropical gardens. Units range from the 80m² king rooms to the 1,600m² presidential villas, while guests in the Club wings have their own individual facilities, including a lounge area and private outdoor pool.
Facilities at the Crowne Plaza Resort Xishuangbanna include six F&B outlets, including a Chinese Restaurant with its own private courtyard and eight private dining rooms, and the Padma Dai barbecue which serves traditional Yunnanese cuisine.
There is also a 2,000m² leisure centre, a heated indoor pool and a large landscaped outdoor pool that flows through the resort. Other facilities include tennis courts, outdoor exercise areas and a kids’ club. The hotel even has its own functioning temple.
For corporate guests, the property offers 5,0000² of meeting space, with three ballrooms and 16 meeting rooms.
