Cruise Baltic, the association of ports connected by the Baltic Sea, has made a series of announcements at Seatrade Med, in Marseille, concerning upcoming developments affecting the association’s immediate future.
The firm will be launching the first ever interactive ‘Cruise Baltic Port Service Standards Working Tool’ which features information relating to each pier at all participating member ports.
Bo Larsen, Cruise Baltic director says: “In close dialogue with the ECC’s Port Sub-Committee, cruise lines and project consultant Luis de Carvalho, the Cruise Baltic Working Group has created a practical and effective ‘overview’ rating system, which allows cruise line operators to access information related to every single pier at each of our Baltic ports. After considerable discussion we have evaluated what key data was needed in order to build a platform that would be useful not only for cruise line operators but also to function as a benchmark and motivational tool for ports within Cruise Baltic.”
The association also announced the addition of two new members – Arendal in Norway and Aalborg in Denmark. Membership for both ports will commence in 2013 taking the number of membership up to 27 in total.
Seatrade Med also saw Cruise Baltic coordinate its efforts with Cruise Norway – with both firms sharing a stand for the first time.
