Ultra-luxury operator Crystal Cruises has announced it will be adopting a no smoking policy on all indoor areas, except the Connoisseur Club smoking lounge.
From 5 and 8 January 2014 (for cruises on Serenity and Symphony) there will be no smoking at any other location inside the ship while outdoor locations will also be limited to designated locations.
The change means there will no longer be smoking in staterooms, lobby lounge and both the Pulse and Luxe nightclubs.
Smoking has been banned from the restaurant for a number of years and was stopped in the casino and Avenue Saloon in 2013.
“We have received considerable feedback and we listened. Our policies have evolved as lifestyles have changed,” said Gregg Michel, Crystal Cruises’ president. “The majority of our guests worldwide are non-smoking and travellers are used to more non-smoking environments today.”
