On 4 June, Crystal Cruises will introduce nine new adjoining staterooms on Crystal Symphony, as part of its drive towards accommodating the growing market in family travel.
Crystal is refitting 18 balcony and deluxe outside staterooms to enable connections and serve as family suites when required. Several of these connecting rooms will offer sofas as a third bed, to accommodate parents with more than two children.
In 2012, family bookings for the cruise line increased 20% compared to 2011. By March 2013, the line had more family groups booked for the year than were booked for all of 2012.
In light of this trend, the Crystal Family Memories programme offers free berths, shore excursion credits and other amenities for family groups. Each of Crystal Cruises’ ships each feature a purpose-built playroom and video game room.
On cruises with more than 10 children, Junior Activities Directors supervise games, crafts and educational programmes.
All-inclusive fares for Crystal Symphony’s 2013 voyages start from £1,230 per person, if booked by 28th June.
