Carnival subsidiary Cunard has revealed that it is to reward both early bookers and loyal passengers by offering them a discount of 5% on 2014 cruises.
The operator confirmed that it had had enormous success with ‘Vantage Fares’ – an initiative rolled out by Complete Cruise Solutions in a bid to put confidence back into early pricing. As part of its continuing efforts Cunard is offering a saving of 5% on bookings after April 2014 and another 5% off that discounted price to those who have booked before. The deal ends on 31 July 2013.
The line also revealed that it is changing its ship deployment to reflect the growing passenger numbers it has which have traditionally been associated with the land-based holiday market.
“We are seeing more and more luxury travellers coming to Cunard for the first time,” Peter Shanks Cunard president and managing director told Cruise News. “We’re blessed with having regular Cunarders that cruise with us time and time again but more discerning holiday makers who go to luxury five star resorts are finding themselves most comfortable with Cunard if they’re looking for a cruise.”
Cunard will now deploy the Queen Elizabeth out of the Mediterranean for the entire summer on fly-cruises from Rome, Venice and Athens on seven, 14 or 21-night durations.
Shanks confirmed that this would be the first time Cunard will operate a ship in the Mediterranean for the entire summer.
The Queen Mary 2 will have its 10-year anniversary celebrated all summer, which will be kicked off with a Three Queens event in May in Southampton followed by two transatlantic crossings. The Queen Victoria will be based in Southampton for the entire summer to Northern Europe.
