The Taj Mahal Hotel & Towers will be rebuilt following the devastation caused by yesterday’s terrorist attack, The Times of India has reported. In a statement, the hotel’s owner, Tata group’s Indian Hotels, said; “We will rebuild every inch that has been damaged in this attack and bring back the Taj to its full glory.”
The death toll from yesterday’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai has reportedly risen to 125, with over 300 more injured. Terrorists and hostages are reported to remain inside the Oberoi Trident hotel, with security forces searching the hotel room-by-room. The Taj Mahal is reportedly “nearly free of gunmen”, according to a BBC report.
Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has vowed to track down the attackers, who are believed to be part of a previously unknown group calling itself the Deccan Mujahadeen.
