Perfume, Liquor and Gold held on to top three spots in the first quarter of the year. Perfume sales reached AED286.4 m (US$78.5 m), representing a 16% increase in sales.

Other categories showing robust growth include cosmetics, up by 30% to reach AED141.3 m (US$38.7 m).

Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman of Dubai Duty Free said: “We have had a very good start and are very much on track for our sales forecast of AED7 bn (US$1.92 bn). Terminal 3 continues to be the biggest in terms of accumulative sales and accounts for 62% of our total turnover. The last phase of that development will be opening of a new Arrivals shop in T2 which will help grow sales further.”Plans are also in full steam for the opening of Concourse D next year.
