Delhi airport prepares for Haj traffic

Delhi Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport completed arrangements for Haj pilgrims who will travel to Saudi Arabia this year. I Prabhakara Rao, Chief Executive of Delhi International Airport (DIAL), said that IGI’s international Terminal 2 will be used for Haj operations for the second consecutive year. The company has made special arrangements in co-ordination with other agencies such as the customs, immigration, police and airlines to provide various facilities to the pilgrims. The pilgrims will be able to use specially earmarked areas for offering prayers inside T2. The first batch of pilgrims will depart on 29 September and arrivals will begin from 11 November up till 12 December. Approximately 32,000 Haj pilgrims are expected to fly out of Delhi airport.
