Delhi car rental company buys Mercedes fleet

Delhi-based car rental company Carzonrent India has purchased a record number of 90 Mercedes Benz cars from the company dealer.Times of India said it was the biggest single deal made by the company in the country. Each customized, gold-tinged C-class Merc costs more than INR 28 lakh. Rajiv Vij, managing director of the firm, said in the report that the new fleet would add to the existing fleet of Mercedes Benz. In 2008, it bought 70 such cars. Vij said demand was rising for luxury vehicles in cities like Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad. “Today, almost 25% of our car rental revenues come from the luxury segment,” he was reported saying, adding the company was now looking forward to build a fleet of limousines.
