The new runway at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport is to be tested ahead of the start of operations, the Times of India has reported. Flights without passengers will land on the runway on 21 August.
The new runway will increase Delhi’s capacity from 35 flights per hour to 55-65 flights, cutting down average aircraft circling times, which currently stand at 35-45 minutes during peak hours.
