Delta boosted by Pacific routes in February

Delta Air Lines has reported a 13.6% rise in demand for its trans-Pacific routes in February 2011. Demand for the routes didn’t keep up with capacity however, which increased 19.0%, leading to a 3.7-point drop in load factor, which averaged 78.2% for the month. This increased demand helped boost Atlanta-based Delta’s overall international passenger traffic to 4.0%, however load factors dropped below 70% due to a 12.5% surge in international capacity. Globally, Delta boarded 11 million passengers last month, with load factors of 73.7%.
