Delta Airlines has launched the first non-stop flight from Atlanta to Shanghai.
“This flight will establish Atlanta as a powerful new Chinese gateway by providing new connectivity and convenience for passengers from across the U.S., as well as Central and South America and the Caribbean,” said Lee Macenczak, Delta’s executive vice president of Sales and Marketing.
In addition to service to China, Delta this year plans to add other new international destinations from Atlanta, including new non-stop service to London-Heathrow (started over the weekend); Stockholm, Sweden (effective 3 June); Santiago, Dominican Republic (effective 20 December) and a second daily flight to Sao Paulo, Brazil (effective 15 June).
