The Tourism Development and Investment Company (TDIC) plans to build the Fosters+Partners’ designed Sheikh Zayed National Museum in the Cultural District part of Saadiyat Island in Abu Dhabi. The development plans have attracted nearly 10 bidders. The tender closes today 26 November and contractors names are expected to be announced in January 2014, according to industry sources
Not all 10 prequalified bidders will bid for the main contract of the Zayed Museum in Abu Dhabi, according to an industry player, as quoted in Zawya. “While it is true that 10 players have prequalified, we are not sure if everyone will submit by the deadline,” he added. “It is normal in the industry since preparing for such complex projects needs exhaustive detailing and some players do not go beyond a certain stage.”
The list of bidders obtained by Zawya includes Arabtec, El Seif with Abu-Dhabi based Ghantoot Group, Six Construct, China State with CCC and ACC. The museum comprises five towers (including five galleries), an education center, a theater, shops, cafes and an auditorium.
