DIA records 17.86% passenger growth

Doha International Airport (DIA) announced a record 2,191,148 passengers for January 2014, representing a 17.86% growth rate compared to January 2013. This follows DIA’s recent news that it increased its year on year passenger traffic by 10% in 2013.
Abdulaziz Al-Mass, senior public relations and communications manager at DIA said: “We realize the importance of these growing numbers and have taken necessary measures to ensure passengers and clients a travel experience.”
Overall mail traffic increased by 0.21% compared to January 2013, with a notable increase in inbound mail. January also brought a notable 7.39% growth in aircraft movements at DIA compared to January the previous year.
Doha International Airport in 2013 handled more than 23.2 million passengers, has undergone a dramatic change over the past three years, nearly doubling in size to cope with huge demand for air travel to and from Qatar.
